It’s friday, it’s fiesta time…. but hang on… there’s no cake?
Inspired by Angie’s latin lover cocktail at the novice gardener‘s Fiesta Friday part-tay last week, today i’m bringing you a blinged up version of my favourite cocktail!
Sparkly Cosmopolitan
Ingredients (or just wing it)
– 35ml vodka
– 15ml orange liqueur
– squeeze fresh lime juice
– 25ml cranberry juice
– twist orange peel and edible glitter, to garnish
Method
Place the vodka, orange liqueur, lime juice and cranberry juice into a cocktail shaker and fill with ice. Shake hard and then strain into a coupe glass or small Martini glass and sprinkle with edible glitter.
Hold the piece of orange peel over the glass and carefully flame with a match. Please don’t do this if you have had a few of these already… Garnish the cocktail with the flamed orange peel and serve.
Or….. Do what I actually did…. Use a bottle of pre-glittered berry juice, add the orange juice, vodka (my favourite at the moment is mango flavoured), the orange liqueur and ice… Then shake, shake, SHAKE!
Happy Fiesta Friday!

Love this Melissa! The glitter is fabulous – this will go down a treat at Angies FF, that’s for sure. You will probably need to hide the lighters after a few of these have gone down!! Hic indeed!!!!

Beautiful cocktail, Melissa! I see a new trend with Fiesta Friday now–no longer just food and baked goods–but lots of libations now. Well, this crowd will just get rowdier and rowdier once we go through these cosmo cocktails. Love the sparkle!

a blingy cocktail? You are brilliant! We have plenty of cake here as we’re celebrating a bday this weekend (cake recipe @ my place if you want a doozy), so didn’t need that. But a sparkly cosmo I do need as my inlaws are coming for the party and will stay overnight. Must find vodka đŸ˜‰

You can get pre-glittered berry juice? Nice! Sparkly cocktails are a great idea, so much fun, maybe I’ll do that for a friend’s Eurovision party, where sparkles are de rigueur! đŸ˜€
