About

As a woman now in her thirties (yikes, when did that happen), who has learned an awful lot about the cruel reality of life over the last few years,  I decided it was time to slow down. My blog is an account of my journey which started by moving into the Glen House; an old secluded farm-house next to woodland in the Irish countryside on the bank of a glistening river. I want to learn new things while I make this house my home. I want to embrace the sweet-smelling fresh air and the vivid colours of beauty all around me.

Oh, and did I mention that nestled within the house is my pantry, my cinnamon pantry… This is where I intend to make, bake and create all sorts of yummy goodies!

  1. Thanks for stopping by the syrup post at food for fun 🙂 Looking forward to hearing more about your cinnamon pastries!

Sounds like you’re embarking on a wonderful journey. Sorry to hear about the “cruel reality of life” part, but sometimes that’s what it takes to put us on the path we’re supposed to be on. Glad to have met you and wish you all sorts of good luck.

      • Hi Melissa. Something went wrong and I thought I was following your blog and I wasn’t! I thought about your blog and your beautiful house in the Irish countryside a couple of times in the past few months and wondered why I hadn’t seen any posts in my reader. I am so glad you visited me today because now I found you again! The glen house..what a wonderful place to live. 🙂

  2. Wow, that looks like the most amazing place in the world! I feel like I could do with somewhere like that to escape to, everywhere in England feels so overcrowded and built up… I shall check in with your blog occasionally and let it inspire me with what might lie further down the road!
I hope you’re really enjoying your new home xx

  5. Melissa, I love the theme behind your blog, and of course your house, as does everyone else who has posted here. Any wonder, it fills me with romantic notions of countryside living, of cooking in a warm kitchen with a roaring fire in the winter, and farm fresh produce being the basis of every meal cooked.

  9. Hi Melissa,
Nice to meet you. Thanks for following my blog.
Recently I visited Scotland and wished to make a small house in the green valley of it and spent rest of my life there. Your house is again regenerating this feeling inside me. You are so lucky dear. 🙂
Looking forward to your recipes. 🙂

  10. Hi Melissa!

Hope you’ve been well! I wanted to first of all thank you for being a subscriber to my blog!

I’m reaching out to you to let you know about some changes to my blog site. A couple of months ago, I moved to a self hosted site. While the link remains the same and I could move all my subscribers over without a hitch, I just found out that my WordPress followers like yourself would have to visit my new site and resubscribe to it if you wanted to keep receiving email notifications every time I posted (which I’m hoping you do!).

I just wanted to bring this to your attention. I’m reaching to all my lovely fellow WordPress followers because I’ve loved the interaction I’ve had with all of them even if it was just a plain old ‘like’!

    Have a great day!

    Best regards,

    Sujatha
